West Nile Fever

We have been so busy! I can't believe next week is the fair/lamb show & sale!
And 1 week from Monday School Starts! Were did the summer go?

We have been spending alot of time in Island Park (by West Yellowstone)
working on a job.
The kids play while me and Travis work (but we have been teaching Brock and Shelby to chink, and they are getting pretty good)

Are latest adventure....
While in Island Park Chloe got bit by a mosquito,
2 days later she spikes a 103 degree temp.
and she complained that her head and neck hurt.

Yes, I'm over-protective and tend to panic.

But the bite and symptoms were making me nervous.
Once her fever broke she developed a rash, and that was
enough for me to call her Dr.

It was West Nile Fever.
She was very sick, but we were lucky
An infected mosquito can cause the Fever or the Virus.
The Virus is when it leads to neurological problems and meningitis.

Even using repellent she was bit and infected. So PLEASE be careful.
You never know how an infected mosquito will effect you until you're bitten.

Amanda's little girl Kapree had a seizure caused by a very high fever and was put in the hospital. We think it could have been west nile too... scary! I hope little Chole is okay now.

How scarey. I don't know if I would even think of that! I hope she is okay and getting better. Mosquito season will be over soon though when the weather cools back down.
